Your meals, workouts, weight and sleep are saved in the browser on your own device. Nobody else can see them.
Food searches and barcode scans go to Open Food Facts, a free public food database. Meal photos, if you use them, go to Google’s free AI to recognise the food, and Google may use them to improve its services. Fridge photos for recipe ideas go to Google’s free AI in the same way. Walk maps load street pictures from OpenStreetMap; your route itself stays on your phone. Questions to the AI coach, if you ask any, go to Google’s free AI with a summary of what you logged. Walk weather, if you switch it on, sends your rough location (about 1 km) to Open-Meteo, a free weather service. No names or accounts are sent.
Download a backup file from Settings and restore it on a new phone. Clearing your browser data without one erases your log for good.

Move fills up with the calories you burn in workouts, Exercise with your workout minutes, and Stand with the hours you got up and moved. Close all three for a perfect day. You can change each goal in Settings.
Tap Scan next to the food search and point your camera at the barcode. You can also take a photo of it, or type the number printed underneath. Marcelo Fit then looks it up in Open Food Facts. If a product isn't there, add it to My foods once and it will be recognised every time after that.

On the old phone, open Settings, then Backup & data, and tap "Download a backup". Send the file to your new phone (by email or messages, for example), open Marcelo Fit there and tap "Restore from a backup".
It depends on your age, size, activity level and goals. 2,000 is a common starting point, but a doctor or dietitian can help you pick the right number.
No sign-up and nothing to buy. Your first meal takes less than a minute to log.
